I think; therefore, I am...Estoy Rey
For some time now, I have been on a journey of exploration and purpose discovery. This has involved me repeatedly asking myself;
“What is my purpose here?”
“What talents do I have to share?”
“What do I offer to the world?”
One of the resounding responses that I consistently receive from the people I interact with; relatives, friends and even strangers, is that I should be sharing more of who I am, what I know, what I do and what I have experienced with an audience.
“You should consider blogging,” they almost always suggest.
“Maybe I should blog,” is always my response.
I enjoy writing, telling stories, meeting and interacting with people, exploring foreign lands and I seem to always have an opinion on most things. Plus, I’ve never had a problem speaking up, speaking before an audience or defending my point.
So, this should be easy for me…right?
WRONG!!!
For years (and I mean YEARS!!!) I have tried to get this blogging thing started. Somehow, I could not seem to get myself into gear. I mean, I wasn’t even getting a throttle. I have not been able to decide on the focus of the blog. I couldn’t even get through the first paragraph of writing the ‘about me.’ Besides, I continue to have major misgivings about opening my space for the world to see. I’ve always been an extremely private person. There are aspects of me even people who’ve been my friends for DECADES have never seen.
However, as I keep asking myself;
“What is my purpose here?”
“What talents do I have to share?”
“What do I offer to the world?”
It has become increasingly clear that I already have an idea of what I need to do and that the struggles that I have regarding the focus is already answered by my inability to decide. That’s is, perhaps I should share as much as possible of what I know and what I have experienced instead of trying to focus on one subject. In doing so, the story of who I am… the “About Me” will write itself.
So, without further ado, I present my blog. This space is for creatives, influencers, fellow bloggers, wander-lusters and the information hungry inquisitors. It is a collective of my life experiences, messages I have received from the universe, my photos, my poetry and some occasional reviews. If you thirst for insight, inspiration, epiphanies and eureka moments, I also have a tall and delicious menu of those for you. To understand me better you should know a couple of things:
1. Professionally I function as an Operations and Program Manager with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Call Center Management and Public Management experience and certifications. I am a lean mean process improvement machine. My professional portfolio also includes extensive experience in recruitment, training, staff development and employee relations.
2. According to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) I am a ENTJ, “Commander” personality type. Personally, I enjoy a good challenge, big or small but more importantly I am energized by interacting with others.
3. My goal is to inspire you and anyone my message reaches to live purposefully, intentionally and authentically by providing a play book (or play-blog) of tools you may use in your life that will enhance your personal, spiritual and professional well-being and growth.
